Cal South Pro+ ODP Sends Selected 2009/2010 Players to Friendship Cup in Oregon This Week.

Fullerton, CA (May 23, 2022) – Cal South Pro+ ODP is proud to announce its selections in the 2009 and 2010 age groups to attend this week’s Portland Timbers Friendship Cup Olympic Development Program (ODP) event in Beaverton, Oregon from May 27-31, 2022.
 
Eighteen boys and eighteen girls pulled from Cal South Pro+ ODP’s 2009 and 2010 age group training pools have been chosen to take part in the 37th edition of the annual event, one of the top ODP tournaments in the country. The Cal South players will compete in the event against similar ODP teams from Cal North, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  
 

We are very excited to give some talented, younger players in our program an opportunity to compete in this event,” said Steve Hoffman, Cal South’s Technical Director. “The Friendship Cup has long established itself as a prime showcase for up and coming ODP players in the western United States. I know that our kids will make us proud both on and off the pitch this week.”
 

The Friendship Cup is hosted annually by the Portland Timbers, the Major League Soccer (MLS) team who have been charged with joint oversight of Oregon’s Olympic Development Program alongside the Portland Thorns of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
