COAST PYRAMID:

 

CSL operates an "open" system to ensure every team competes at the level they have earned. From the first entry into competitive play, up to elite level soccer, CSL provides each team with the opportunity to succeed. CSL Premier is the pathway to success at both the regional, and national level.  Direct entry into the Pacific Conference (via Premier and CRL play) offers CSL teams a pathway to compete at the highest level regionally, and the best opportunity to receive an invitation to play in the USYS Far West Regionals and the National League. 

CSL's system of promotion and relegation offers an equal opportunity to all teams involved, and where a team plays in the division determined by its play on the field, not the name of the club. Other leagues operate on a "closed" system, where only chosen teams can play and the results on the field do not influence where you play. A "closed" system DOES NOT reward hard work, and a commitment to excellence on the field. ECNL, ECRL, GA, MLS Next, EA, DPL ALL operate a "closed" league system.  
 
Coast Soccer League's team pathway, allows families the opportunity to find their own path. CSL has an equal commitment to leagues at every level of play, from Premier through Division 3, Select, and Juniors. CSL offers both seasonal and year-round playing opportunities to ensure every team gets the experience they want. Every family is different, each child is different. and each team is unique. CSL's league offerings cater to these differences and allows for the best fit for your team and/or child.

The addition of the Pacific Conference to the pyramid offers CSL teams a pathway to have the opportunity to compete at the highest level and the best opportunity to receive an invitation to USYS Far West Regionals and the National League.
 

NEW COAST DIVISIONS:

This Fall, CSL will introduce new divisions names. We have aligned the names of the leagues that make up the CSL team Pathway. This ensures a clear progression from the grass roots, all the way to the Elite level of play. CSL continues to lead the way in giving teams and families who aspire to play on a state, regional and national stage, the clearest path to achieving their goals.

For 40+ years CSL has been the number one competitive league in Southern California, and the league has always used feedback from the CSL community to elevate the game day experience. Through our industry leading app, the community can offer feedback after every game. Each team has the opportunity to give the league feedback on the game day experience, and the feedback from the teams and officials allows CSL to manage all aspects of the league based upon "real time" feedback. No other league asks the families for feedback, and no other league has the technology to gather real time data.  
 
In response to feedback, we have elevated our game across various levels of the league, here are just some of the upgrades.
 

CSL 5 Star Program:

CSL 5 Star Awards allow the CSL community to highlight the stand out teams and referee's that dedicate themselves to behaviors that support the life skills development of the young men and women who play in CSL.  
 
You may have seen some of the 5 star reports that were shared online and in the CSL app. CSL is excited to announce its “5 Star Referee Program”. The 5 Star Referee program aims to recognize those in the referee community who were rated highly for on the field performance, coupled with a commitment to improving the game off the field. This Fall season, referee's who excelled in all areas will be wearing "5 Star Referee" patches to recognize their positive impact on the game.

CSL App Upgrades:

CSL is committed to making your “game day” experience the best in the nation, and our industry leading technology allows us to manage the scheduling of games throughout southern California. Having information at your fingertips is not just an important part of life today, it’s essential to managing your busy schedule. CSL has further improved the app over the off season to make it even better. Improvements to usability, rating systems, standings and schedules are all apart of this upgrade and we hope this technology improves to the overall experience of playing in CSL.

Coast Soccer wants to promote all the amazing kids, coaches and teams that play in its league. Like you, we are so proud of the accomplishments of so many of our athletes, both on the pitch and off. We want to help you tell these stories. This year will be better than ever and promoting your teams, sharing league news, running contests, sharing game highlights will all be apart of our social media efforts.
